Grant Writing for Artists // The Artist Intensive Part II
Grant Writing for Artists // The Artist Intensive Part II
Understanding and mastering the craft of writing successful grant proposals can propel the trajectory of any artist’s career. From small-scale projects to solo exhibitions, international artist residencies, and travel, it is often difficult for artists to participate in big opportunities or bring them to their fullest potential when under a tight budget. I can tell you first-hand that receiving grants, namely the big ones, has been life changing. This two-part workshop will equip you with the essential skills to write an effective grant application and help you obtain the funds you need to achieve your artistic goals.
With three Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grants (2019, 2021, 2024), and several smaller professional grants from various organizations under my belt; I am going to share with you the specific methods I use to craft grant materials for my own applications. Through real life examples of successful project and budget proposals, you will gain an idea of how to format your documents in ways that push beyond a simple checklist. We will look at key components that will make your application stand out, have Q & A’s, and an interactive document which will help to build collaboration and a little sense of community to make the task of grant writing exponentially less daunting. This workshop is an investment that will lead you to maximize your creative and artistic potential.
